: It does not. I-80 is not a toll road. Across OH/PA it is I-80/90 and since
: I-90 is a toll road, that portion of I-80 falls into the category only
: because it is sharing path. (Sort of like guilt by association)

: Well, at least that's how it was explained to me by a friend who worked for
: the DOT.

In that case, I would be interested to hear how your friend
would explain the fact that I-80 becomes a toll road just west
of Youngstown, and remains a toll road for about 75 miles until
just west of Cleveland, where it joins up with the 90. During that
75 mile stretch, it appears to be just the 80, its not joined up
with anything else. Speaking of the 90, its actually free all
the way through PA and through Ohio until it joins up with I-80 at
Cleveland, (which is also known as the Ohio Turnpike, a non-free
road.) If anything, it looks as though the 80 is the one that
is contaminating the 90... ?
