See? I TOLD you!!!!
Seriously though, welcome to the wonderful world of
motorcycling. I really recommend you get a full face
helmet, regardless of what you ride. A full face brain
bucket goes a long way toward protecting your melon,
especially your lower jaw and teeth, not to mention
they are generally a bit quieter. You can get a Snell
rated Z1R for about $90 shipped. Cycle World gave that
helmet a top rating when they did a helmet comparison.
Email me off list if you want some websites that you
can order them from. I just ordered a new jacket last
week, should be here next Thursday. I need a heavier
jacket for cold weather riding. As long as the roads
aren't covered with snow or ice, I'll ride. I know
last winter I was riding when the outside temps were
in the 20's! I'm just gonna have to wait till I see
what the winters are like here in Northern California.
One last thing, and this isn't just for Tom, but
anyone on the list here. Please check out the other
group I belong to, Pashnit(pronounced passionate). You
can go to www.pashnit.com then click on the forum.
Once there, you can register (its free) and check out
all the neat places people have been on their bikes,
the pics they've taken, even get advice on problems
they are having with a particular bike. Sound
familiar? This group reminds me a lot of the DML, its
open to anyone regardless if they ride or not, if they
have a bike or not, or even of they live in California
or not. Come on and check it out, if you decide to
sign in to the forum, my screen name there is
Bandit12. Hope to see some of you there!
Ray
Some risk is necessary in life. Without risk, the new world wouldn't have been discovered, man wouldn't have landed on the moon and we wouldn't ride motorcycles.
