DML Calendar submissions needed

I haven't gotten very many submissions for the 2007 DML Calendar.
What I will probably do is to go through the National Meet photos
that I have here (I think I have everybody's except for Walt's),
and pick a bunch of those to throw into the voting pool. Speaking of
which, what sort of national meet photos is the list in general
interested in for the calendar? Only shots of Dakotas, and no other
vehicles? Shots with other vehicles as long as there is a Dakota
in the frame? Shots of other vehicles even if there are no Dakotas
present? Scenic shots without any vehicles at all? I figure that
the voting process will weed out the types of photos that the DML
doesn't want in the calendar, but it would help to know the general
consensus so that I can choose photos which will make good candidates.

Its not too late to submit a pic of your truck. Details about how
to submit a photo follow:

   Photo submission deadline: Saturday, 11/18
Voting period: Sunday, 11/19 through Saturday 11/25

This should allow me enough time to compile the calendars and have
them shipping in the first part of December.

   Photo requirements and submission instructions:

You can send actual photographs to me via snail mail at:

     Jon Steiger
     836 King Rd.
     Forestville, NY 14062

(If you want your photos returned, include an SASE, or if you're one of
the DMLers that I see in person from time to time, I can hold onto them
for you and give them back in person next time I see you.)

Alternatively, digital pics can be e-mailed to me at
     dmlcalendar@jonsteiger.com

If you are sending digital pics, the minimum acceptable resolution is
2200x1700 at 200dpi. (approx. 11x8.5" print size) If that is gobbelty-gook
to you and you aren't sure wether your photos meet the requirement or not,
send them anyway and I will check them out and let you know if they will
be usable. If you are going out to take your photos with a digital camera,
to be on the safe side, set it at the absolute maximum image size and
quality, with as little compression as possible.

For our new DML members who aren't familiar with this, basically
what happens is every year, folks (who are interested in doing so)
submit pictures of their truck, then the DML as a whole votes on them
and the most popular 12 get printed in a calendar, one for each month,
which is then available for purchase for about $15. As always, if
anyone has any questions, feel free to post 'em to the list or you
can contact me directly at dmlcalendar@jonsteiger.com.

   Thanks!
