I could be mistaken on this, but IIRC, usually folks *remove*
the rear sway bar to help the launch. As far as getting a better
launch goes, tires and tire pressure can make a big difference,
and there are a variety of traction bars available. Any weight
you can take off the front of the truck (and/or move to the back)
would help also (i.e. battery relocated to the right rear of the bed,
aluminum heads, etc.) Trucks can be difficult to launch due to
their extremely unequal weight distribution. Technique can make
a big difference too; you may need to experiment with launching at
various RPM levels to find the one that works best with your
particular setup.
One thing to keep in mind is that spinning during the launch
isn't necessarily a bad thing in that it acts something like a
safety... Your rearend might not be up to the task of handling
a full power launch with tires that are glued to the strip. :-)
So, as your launch improves and your truck grabs better and better,
just keep in mind that at some point you may need to upgrade other
parts of your drivetrain to keep up.
