You probably won't believe this, but it's the Tensioner more than
likely.....
The 3.9, 5.2, 5.9 Tensioners tend to do this as the miles pile up....
I've had to change it on two of my previous Dakota's!

The belt was replaced several months ago with a Goodyear gatorback and the
idler was checked and seemed good. I'm hesitant to blame the squeal on the
idler since there is no change in the sound with changes in RPM. I may be
wrong, but it seems that there should be some change with engine speed.
