I couldn't tell you that...and there are still 3.9L's out there that don't
have a tensioner. A general rule though is to install the tensioner if you
don't have it.

which came out in 97. So I finally opened up my FSM, and according
to it I already have a tensioner.

So why did the 3.9L engines get it, but not the 318 & 360?
