Just when you thought it's all figured out....

I've got a new Avenger in my stall...build date is 01/04/2007. Model year
designation by the VIN is a 2008 model. Go figure.

We have 2008 model trucks and trailers already coming in for inspections.
Rule of thumb, 8th character back from the last number of the VIN is the model
year. Up to 2000, it was letters. 2001+, use numbers. Starting 2010, they go
back to the alphabet. You'll NEVER see an "O" or an "I" in a VIN. 17 digit
VINs came about in 1983 I think. Can you tell I'm bored??????
