If the gauge was fluctuating that much...try this: With the key ON/engine
OFF...wiggle the coolant temp sensor harness and see if the gauge moves
while you do that (have a buddy watch the gauge). If it doesn't, rules out
a harness issue. Resistance check (previous post has that) and then just
replace the darn thing.

That was my first thought - UNTIL the temp gage started flopping up &
down...NAPA's open til 7 (local time)
I don't hafta run for a bit...maybe see if Bernd has any input...At least
the weather is holding for the Sporty!
