Funny. I just had the fluid changed and a new filter.
Both items I bought myself and went to the shop and told them to change it.
WIX #58707 filter ( about $5 ) and 6 qts. of Valvoline ATF+4 ( about $3.50 / qt. )
Yes, I know you may say it should be Mopar ATF+4 but I read this thread:
http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/dev/archive/index.php/t-95990.html
My tranny has exactly 34,000 miles on it. It was replaced about 18 months ago. This was
its first service in that time. The tranny is flawless. Shifts when I need it too.
Doesn't shift when I don't want it too.
I told the gents at the shop DO NOT MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS. Dump the old tranny fluid in
the pan, clean pan, install new filter, refill with 6 qts. of my fluid.
They did it just the way I asked. No problems with the tranny still. Its runs very
nice. ;-)
I dont plan to "flush" the tranny until about 60,000 miles. But thats just me.
