IMO, no. The motor I had in my truck for three years waiting on my new one
to get finished was run with Royal Purple before I got it. When I dropped
it into the truck, the entire lifter valley had a thin dark purple film in
it, and even the dipstick had a dark film on it to where you couldn't read
the add mark. Not sure about you, but any oil that leaves a film like that
behind can't be all that good. When I started using the motor I used
Mobil1. The first two oil changes the oil came out real dark with a slight
purple tinge to it. After the third oil changed it was back to the normal
dark brown color like Mobil1 normally is.

Subject: DML: Royal Purple motor oil
Just found out that my local Auto parts store now carries Royal Purple
engine oil. And I can get it at the same price as the Mobil 1 that I have
been using in my Dak since I bought it new in 97. Aside from the TV shows
and magazine hype, would it be worth switching to the Purple?
