I heartily recommend Buffalo products. Used them at my last job for
light duty NAS stuff. TerraStations and TerraServers are just
fantastic, and there's a decent amount of hacking that can be done to
the Linux ones as well if that holds any appeal to you.

That's really all I had to add to this thread aside from "I'd rather
eat glass than run a windows server" so back to lurking for me :-)

(I stuffed a couple RAID cards in an old G4 tower and I have a RAID0
1TB array that I DVR to, and I back up stuff that matters to a pair
of 300GB swapies that I cycle between in the machine and in a drawer
at work for offsite, plus a 60GB boot volume)
