Re: Is NOTHING made well anymore? (rant)

People can either have quality,or they can have cheap.
The overwhelming majority of people in this country
decided they want cheap. So everything is made in
China now,due to the trend we started years ago. It's
our own fault nothing is built well anymore.

Funny you should mention cheap lights. I bought a
$36.00 100 watt dusk-to-dawn mercury light for my
garage at Home Despot, and all was well. It was
Chinese,but I couldn't find anything that wasn't.
I decided to go back and buy another for my
outbuilding, and went through the trouble to install
it,but when I took the mercury bulb out of it's
sleeve,I could see the bulb was bad. Took the light
back, but they didn't have any more. So I went to
another Home Despot yesterday, and I found that they
were well-stocked with these lights. I opened one up
to inspect the bulb - bad. Opened another, and it was
bad too.

BUT,I found a light fixture made by "Lights Of
America" that was actually made in the USA! So I
bought it,paid ten dollars more, and I could not
possibly be any happier! Except it didn't come with a
bulb. But once I go back to the store and get a
Chinese flourescent bulb for it,you could not make me
more happy!
