I went with Michelin Pilot Alpine PA2s.

Since our winters in Maryland aren't really that severe, I wanted a tire
that didn't make the car hateful to drive in anything but snow. So I
went with a 'performance' winter tire instead of full on snow tire.
We've only had one light snowfall this year, so my experience with them
is limited, but they seem to work just fine.

As far as pulling plug wires why would I want to do a crummy thing like
that? AWD donuts are fun! :-D

BTW, what do you do to get the Subaru to hook up in the snow, pull a
couple of plug wires? :-)
