Agreed. I owned a B150 van, 1981 vintage, carbed 318, 833, with maybe
150hp. I never did get that carb to run right. My parents owned an older
Omni (or perhaps it owned them) with the feedback Holley. Never again.
It immolated itself in the middle on an intersection one fine spring
day. If not for those dark, early days and the resultant need to improve
those vehicles, we probably wouldn't have evolved to where we are today.
My '94 Dak got better fuel economy and maybe 100 more hp out of the same
displacement. I love technology.
