Well, I wouldn't say "almost" in there since you will still have to pull the
harmonic dampner and then hope you don't damage the front oil pan seal when
you pull the timing chain cover. But it wouldn't hurt to do it. As far as
pointers, hardest part will be getting the clutch fan off. I recommend
"renting" the proper tool from your local auto parts store. It makes life a
lot easier. Although I've never had a problem just using a big crescent
wrench and a hammer to knock it loose. When you pull the accessory bracket,
leave the alternator and A/C compressor attached and just lay it off to the
passenger side. Don't forget about the small bolt on the side for the dip
stick tube.

Subject: DML: It's water pump time!

I just finally made it home, I had the bearings let go in the water pump on
my 92 Dak about 2 hours from home. So I'm looking for any pointers on doing
the water pump on a 92 5.2L with A/C and power steering. I figure since the
engine has almost 300,000 KM on it I will probably do the timing chain as
well since I'm going to be almost all the way in there.

Just looking for any tips or tricks everyone may have.

Thanks!
James
