Yes, politician who want out money for vote generating projects and taxes
are greedy. However, ask the constituency of a congressman who gets much
money and man projects for his people. He is hailed as a guardian of the
people. When someone else does this, his people are mad that the government
is wasting money. In other words, build my bridges and fix my roads, but
don't was my taxes doing that for people three states away.
Local and state governments should learn to budget to afford projects on
their own. The states want to be independent, but they cry for Federal money
for every least little thing.
