Was Red fuel now Communist Transfer Cases

Actually the first one was incompetently rebuilt by some lame ass shop
in Kelso, WA before I bought the truck, the second one was from a junk
yard in Wisconsin and was already shot when I got it, but since I
bought it used (not rebuilt) it was a really good deal and I was
broke. The current one was rebuilt and came with a 1 year warranty and
came out of Northern California (i.e. Southern Jefferson).

Of course the shop in Kelso and the junk yard in Wisconsin must have
been Red sympathizers...

I really need to stop watching Dr. Strangelove....anyway, back to
reality....the other half of the story is the front drive shaft. The
original was lost by the same incompetent shop in Kelso so when I got
the truck my dad hunted down a drive shaft out of Mt. Shasta, CA. I
tightened the bolts a tad too tight on the mounting clip on the
transfer case side of it and when removing the transfer case after it
blew up on me in Nebraska I rounded off the heads of the bolts and
couldn't get them off for the life of me, so I disassembled the
transfer case so I could remove the drive shaft while still attached,
then left the country for two months. Returned and moved back across
the country. Didn't have time to try again to get that damn drive
shaft off so I left it behind in that hell known as Michigan (no
offense to anyone from there). Winter rolled around and I realized
that it would be handy to have 4x4 capabilities for the snowboarding
season and any trips across the mountains so I ordered a drive shaft
from a junk yard on line, they sent me a rear drive shaft. They gave
me the run around for a month, finally I got instructions for the
return, but they never sent the right part and continued to give me
the run around until they finally stopped answering my calls and of
course never once returned one, finally I gave up, decided to cut my
losses, and filed a complaint with the BBB. After calling every junk
yard around I finally found one today and picked it up (also took the
power mirror knob off the junk yard truck, something that's been
missing as long as I've had the truck), it was a very sad sight
though, a blue 1994 Dakota SLT CC 4x4 V8 and completely
gutted....Tomorrow morning before work I'm going to put it in and I
will once again have more options than just 2 high and 2 low. The
hellish saga will finally be over.
