So does this make you feel any better? Again, lubricating the shaft is just
putting a bandaid on the actual problem. I do too many of these every day.

Lube away - keeps me in business. :)

Well, considering he didn't have ANY problems until AFTER he cleaned it, and
I know damn well washing off the lubricant when cleaning TBs WILL cause them
to stick from personal experience and more than a few other Dak/Dur owners
posting on other forums. And guess what?? Lubricating the shaft where it
passes between the two bores fixed it every single time and they never had
another problem. I doubt anything else is "in the mix" other than lack of
lubrication. As for the whole 45 degree angle thing, he said he felt it in
that position when moving it by hand with it OFF the motor, so I'd sure as
hell hope the vacuum from the engine didn't have any effect on it. At that
point the spring has enough tension to keep it from sticking, but that
doesn't mean it's not rough in that spot. Nice try though Bernd.

But hey, we can argue back and forth for days and neither one of us is going
to back down. His problem is fixed now by following the advice I gave in my
first reply. No need to linger on the subject, but I'm sure you will.
