RE: RE: Re: Failed Colorado Emissions High NOx A little long....

Don't have the emissions specs and no recalls regarding the cat for the 5.2L
model. High NOx emissions are normally caused by the following:

Misfire condition (It's a Dodge...they do that..hehehe)
Malfunctioning or improperly adjusted EGR valve (Obviously not on this
vehicle)
Failed oxygen sensor (65K miles people - they do go bad...and really bad at
100K+)
Leak in exhaust tubing upstream of converter (check for black "gook" around
the seams before the cat)
Excessive carbon deposits in combustion chamber
Improper spark advance (can't touch this anyway)
Blocked coolant passage (runs hotter than normal)
Overly lean air-fuel mixture (leaking intake manifold - plenum)
Failed or malfunctioning catalytic converter (Possibility - don't have to
rattle either to fail)
Corroded or damaged engine sensor electrical connections (last resort)

Does anyone have any published emissions specs from the factory on
this truck? Does anyone know how low they have blown on emission
tests? It's again a 5.2l 1999 US emissions.
Thanks Again!
