His HC and CO would be higher and it's not.

For starters, I'm wondering hy you went to a higher octane fuel to try and
pass emissions. The higher octane will burn slower resulting in more
unburnt fuel entering the exhaust. I'd try running a couple tanks of the
lowest octane you can get through and trying again.

It's been a while since I have done much on the list but now it seems
I am (or Air Care Colorado is) having a problem with my 99 Dakota. I
have a 5.2 L 4x4 with a K&N FIPK Mopar Performance PCM MSD wires,
brass cap and roter, Viper electric fan, 180 deg stat. I don't put
too many miles on this a year, My daily driver is an 06 Magnum R/T.
Here are my results in the 3 yes 3 tests I failed!
The first test I had the oil changed and cleaned the K&N and put in a
quart of denatured alcohol in the tank with 4 gallons of gas. I ran
it up to temp for about 45 minutes.
Reading Limit
HC GPM 0.6615 1.2 Pass
CO GPM 8.5833 15.00 Pass
CO2GPM 520.8941
NOx GPM 2.7288 2.0 Fail
The second test I installed new factory spec NGK plugs gapped to .045.
I put in a bottle of B&G 44k then I ran the tank of gas down to about
half a gallon and refilled it with 10 gallons of premium 91 octain.
HC GPM 0.8090 1.2 Pass
CO GPM 6.6932 15.0 Pass
CO2GPM 519.0306
NOx GMP 2.6831 2.0 Fail
The third time I took out the 180 stat and put in a new 195. I took
out the Mopar Performance PCM and replaced with the factory PCM.
Regapped the plugs to .040 which is factory spec. I followed the
reprogram procedures on the list for the OBDII. I also checked the
cat, it "appears" to be good and I also checked for vac leaks. I
looked for the EGR valve...lol....there isn't one.

I also looked back to see what my truck was at on my older emissions
test from 2004 and 2006 Here is what I got:

Now they toughened the standards since 2006 and on the new tougher
standards my truck would have never passed. Now it has 158000 miles
on it and it's cleaner than it was when it was only 4 years new. I am
just finding nothing that will change the NOx levels at all. Could it
be the CAT? Wouldn't the other leveles be high if the cat was bad? I
have never had any check engine lights and does not show any codes.
Any suggestions you have would be great.
