Not necessarily. Been there done that with the Royal Purple fluid in my
factory limited slip on my R/T. I took a different route in the end though
and installed a Powertrax. No more clutches or friction modifier to worry
about.

If that were the case it would wine while turning. The pinion bearing is the
one on the front of the diff where the driveshaft connects. It requires
pulling everything out of the diff to replace.
