Not necessarily.. if you search enoug, you should be able to find a Dakota that can be a donor
truck... thats what Don Rey did... swapped a 318, and a 5 speed into his Gen I Dak-Vert.
I took a different route and I've been left with a project stuck in the garage for... going on
3 years now. But I also found a donor truck for $600... which has been sitting in the other
garage for 4 years. heh.
Now that I'm just a run of the mill evil minion at work again... I'll have time to finish
something.
