Yes, the tranny has a temp sensor in it that sends a signal to the PCM. If
it overheats, it prevents shifts into OD and throws a check engine light.

As for your mystery options, sounds like you got the HD service group which
includes all of what you list.

I don't know. It has the standard Mitsu lifter clatter and blue smoke
taking off. Last I checked on it she had checked the oil but had
overfilled it by at least a quart. It also has the bad solder joints
in the gauge cluster that makes you have to hammer on the dash to get
the gauges to work on occasionally. The interior was nice when we got
it now it's trashed. Standard soccer Mom car. This is her 4th car in
5 years, though admittedly the '74 Dodge Colt (bright orange station
wagon, 4 speed manual) is still alive if you change the fuel filter
every couple weeks due to rust in the gas tank.

I suppose, but I'd start worrying about leaks and flow restrictions. I
have the factory auxiliary unit (another one of my undocumented on the
hood sticker mystery options like the 3.90 gears and power steering
cooler), so I guess it's not too important as I'm not towing anything
at the moment.

Does the 46RH have a temperature sending unit connected to the PCM? I
remember seeing it on a friend's OBD1 scanner when I was checking the
coolant temp and it had a readout, but it read some crazy temp of like
-124 degrees. I'd install one but it's a hassle and $$$ considering I
don't even have a receiver hitch installed at the moment.
