Have you seen the video?

No matter how tempting $4500 is, after seeing that I'd never be able to
send my truck off to be euthanized unless it was on its last legs anyway.

That exact statement is the reason why I'm still driving a 15 year old 4x4
pickup truck with no air conditioning, no interior space and 156,000 miles
on the odometer to work every day, 55 miles round trip at just under 20
MPG, in a province where "cheap" gas is anything under $3.50/gal. It
makes no sense whatsoever as a daily driver, but it's paid for, it gets me
where I need to go, and I've fooled around with taking it apart and
putting it (mostly) back together enough that I have a pretty good idea
how it works. The most annoying thing about this truck is actually trying
to justify it to people who just don't get it. Those conversations
usually end with a statement like "you won't think your Prius is so
awesome when I park on top of it" because it's the only way to get them to
stop nagging me about my "horrible hydrocarbon-emitting ways".
