Heh! Of that I have no doubt. :-) Between compressor oil,
moisture, hoses made of parts known to cause cancer (but only in
California) ;-) its probably not something that should be done on a
regular basis. :-) (Or ever, maybe.) ;-) I initially tried
breathing through a 1.5" hose from a swimming pool vacuum cleaner
which worked on the surface, but go down only 1-2 feet and it was
impossible to create enough suction to breathe. I needed an air pump
or pressure, and didn't have an air pump or the power to run it way
down there.
I was actually just going to go down there with a mask and fins,
but I couldn't find any fins. Based on my experience Sunday, I didn't
think I'd be able to do a very good search given the amount of time
required to keep going down and popping back up for air, plus buoyancy
was a problem, so I went for something that could keep me on the
bottom for several minutes at a time.
The water was clearer than I expected though, so in retrospect, the
mask alone probably would have been sufficient. (Couldn't see the
bottom, but visibility was probably 4' or so.) However, there's no
problem so simple that I can't vastly overcomplicate it. ;-)
Lots of fish in there - the biggest maybe 4" long. How there could
be ANY fish that didn't get washed right out to the lake I have no
idea. Must have been some deep protected areas somewhere.

Thanks! The part of the lens looked like it could have been from a
Dak, seemed fresh, and I remember noticing at some point during the
weekend that Mike had a busted taillight. The second piece that I
found was actually a good distance down the trail (down washboard
hill, across the creek, around the left hand bend, and down that trail
a bit), so it hung in there a while. Must be Mike hit a bump there or
something to expel the stowaway. :-)
