I'm guessing then that you didn't buy the part of the article that
says "If you're a fan of Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep brands this is
undoubtedly a bright day." ;-)

If not - that makes two of us. I didn't see anything to get excited
about in there either, with the possible exception of a diesel
Wrangler, however I'm sure it will be a Fiat sourced motor and
probably some sort of weak-sister diesel more suited to a euro
econobox.

But, its to be expected really... After all, the people who
basically own and run Chrysler (hint: most of them have .gov e-mail
addresses) are the same idiots and/or scumbags who are doing their
level best to tank the economy and screw up the entire country. (I
don't think its a coincidence that the only one of the big three
currently turning a profit - Ford - is also the only one that didn't
latch onto the government "bailout" teet. A really smart move on
their part; it should allow them to keep operating until the
rediculous new CAFE standards kick in, then its probably gonna be
"lights out" for everybody.)

I predict that it won't be too long before the current iteration of
Chrysler crashes and burns. If it is even possible to run a
profitable automobile manufacturer nowadays given the gov't baggage
they have to carry, maybe a phoenix that can actually do so will rise
from the ashes eventually. Hopefully it will happen before the
company's name is so diluted that it doesn't mean anything or have any
connection left to the Chrysler of old.
