Azie, to clarify my previous reply...I had commented on your statement about
"almost all the internals are the same". I should have also agreed that
you are correct about the A500/904 and A518/727 connections. One thing I
might add is the A500 has a lower ratio first gear set than the A518. The
A500/42RH/42RE's have a 2.74:1 first gear vs the A518/46RH/46RE's 2.45:1.
Second gear is also different with the A500 having 1.54 vs the A518 1.45.

One could expect a little better acceleration from the A500 at the possible
expense of some durability in a heavy duty application.
