Lots, which is an understatement, of these were turned in during Cash for Clunkers.
If you hurry, there may still be a lot of them you can get body parts of cheaply before the carcass is disposed of for good.
Those parts should actually be pretty inexpensive and are also available aftermarket.
Pull what you have to out to get it to drive home..
Take off the damaged parts and fix what you can to
reuse them.
Would the '98 XJ be the square body? Or is it the Grand Cherokee body?
If square.. Beat the panels flat and use them.
Are you aiming to get it as a road vehicle; or mainly a train rig?
If trail.. Just go for function.. Damn the cosmetics.
Enjoy and just do it.
