Looking for some pointers on solving a hard starting issue.

I'm assuming is a failing fuel pump. But instead of guessing I thought
I'd see what the general consensus is.

When starting the truck, cold or hot, I have to turn the key, engage the
starter for 10s or so, then disengage the starter, wait 5s and try again.

The truck will start on the second try, but stumbles for a second before
picking up an running normally.

It will start first try only if the truck has been shut down for less
than 30s.

And the problem is getting worse.
