The styling was only the final nail in the coffin. For not much more
money and identical fuel mileage, you could get a Ram 1500. For the
same money and much better mileage & build quality, you could get a
Taco. Where's the Dak fit in? Nowhere. When the Ranger, S-10 &
Canyon/Colorado were on the scene, the Dak made sense. But that's done
now. The market for the Dak started dissolving in '04. Chrysler just
didn't realize it for 5 years.
