You've got the 46RE. Swapping it for a manual is not for the faint of
heart; you'd be better off finding a new truck of the same vintage
with configuration you want.

The V8 Daks came with the NV3500 (5-speed) from sometime in the
early-mid '90s (1996 at least, because I know Jon has it in his '96)
through at least 2004.

A handful of people have done it, but it is neither cheap nor easy.
It's been a long time since it's been discussed here, but IIRC you're
looking at the flywheel, transmission, PCM, I think the transmission
crossmember, maybe the input on the transfer case (may depend on what
year the donor is), and some surgery on the floorpan. A few more

Bear in mind that the NV4500 Jim Harmon used is much larger & heavier
than the NV3500, and was normally found behind the 360 in Rams.
