Well I might be willing to part it out. I had planned on disassembling
it if I could find another Ram to replace it with. That way I would
have a back up power train and components if something were to fail.
Unfortunately its just about freaking impossible to find a truck the
same generation as mine, that isn't a rusted out pile. I'm finding the
majority of trucks I'm looking at are pretty beat to shit. :-(

I really want to get away from the short wheel base reg cab short box
configuration. It has not served me well in the past. Either a regular
cab 8 foot box, or a quad cab 8 foot box. I'm universally opposed to an
extended cab 6.5 foot box full size. I hate that configuration. That
configuration is the most common out there... granted I can't get away
from it anymore if I want a midsize truck. Ranger, Dakota, Tacoma,
Colorado are all without long box options anymore.

I am, however, highly encouraged to see the Ram Tradesman moniker dusted
off and put to use again. If you don't know what I'm talking about -
check out allpar.com - they did a write up on it. Dodge (yes Dodge, not
freaking "Ram") Dodge unveiled a Tradesman package, which is a stripped
down basic model truck, coupled with a towing package and the 5.7L hemi
in the 1500 trucks. I wish they would make that package available for
the 2500 series. I'm just not a fan of IFS suspensions. I suppose I
should take a new 1/2 ton for a test drive before I condemn it. And I
could stick a small lift kit in it for a little added ground clearance.
     [blink]....

here I go day dreaming again... when I've been putting everything I own
on craigs list.

I'm a moron...
