Yup, still got mine, the one and only Dakota I have ever owned. 97 CC SLT 5.2L Auto, bought it used Thanksgiving of 99 with I think 52k on it (or 59k?). So, damage over the years?
Freeze plugs rusted out 1 yr after I purchased it (about $2k bill)
ummm.. 2 sets of brakes, but 1 was warped rotors from advance auto after 2 months
except for upgrades (intake manifold, exhaust, headers, etc), no major changes
1 set of rear drums I think
same shocks (don't ask me, but I get 'em checked like every year, and they're still good)
Paint job 6 yrs ago to address hail dmg and other nicks (and got new hood)
But, Engine has spun bearing just this week, and tranny is on the mends. Cheaper to replace engine/tranny than to buy something for $2k and get someone elses problems
176k on origional motor and tranny.
Oh, and headliner starting to peel.. ewww
