They're great if you don't mind replacing items more frequently in
return for less maintenance, like if you trade in your vehicle every few
years. I don't know if I'd get greasable u-joints unless I had a lift
or other way to get under the truck easily. The front end only takes an
extra 5 minutes of work with an air powered grease gun to get taken care
of though, and I only put about 3k a year on the truck. 5 minutes once
a year isn't much effort to me in return for bearings that last longer.
The upper balljoints on the '97-2000 Dakota had issues with the seal
though, and got water/dirt into them rather easily, resulting in very
premature failure. At least with greasable ball joints you're flushing
all the water and crud out every 3k and you can use a higher quality
synthetic grease.
