I did mine a 3 years ago, and it was a PITA, but doable. If you remove
it, plan to replace a lot of stuff in that box since you are going
through it (and plan to keep the vehicle for a while).
Replace AC and heater core, I replaced fan motor and blades (OEM=plastic,
got steel). There is also a resistor of sorts on the firewall under the
dash.
I removed the front seats and center console to get better access at
everything. I also have pictures of the core itself and the disassembly
(lots of screws).
I still have the pictures and probably the instructions I used. They
were pretty step-by-step on removing the heater core box.
