A stock 5.2 5 speed 3:90 posi dakota sport regular cab should run from the
high 14s to low 15s stock.Headers,underdrives,K&N,Flowmaster,Computer have
dropped my truck to low 14s on street tires,and high 13s with slicks.
As for the Vortec...the price is $3100 and that includes the MSD,and extra
fuel pump.If you want a performance increase install a Nitrous system.The kit
cost $600.For an additional $300 you can get a progressive system that allows
you to tell the system how much nitrous you want injected at what rpm...
So say you want the nitrous to come on at 1500 rpm and only 10% until you
reach 4000rpm..it will progressivly inject it through the rpm band instead of
a sudden burst.For under $1000 you can increase your HP up to 150hp.That
would put you into the high 12 to low 13 sec range with no problem.
