On a deserted straight/level highway in Northeastern New Mexico, I floored my
V6(180 HP)/automatic/4x4 extended cab Dakota. I got it up to 115 MPH (It took
quite a few minutes to reach max speed, from 100MPH, it was SLOWLY creeping
up).
I noticed with overdrive and the 3.9 rear end, it was running about 3600 RPM, I
stayed at that speed for about five minutes, and the temp guage stayed in its
normal range. Truck ran smooth, but wind noise was loud.

I would guess the V8 would be good for another 10 mph, so maybe they could do
125 mph or so.
