Well, the wife says she wants a new truck. I figure I might as well ask
you guys why I should (or why I shouldn't) buy a new Dodge truck. She
currently has a Toyota truck (small size) and I laid down the law that
the next beast is going to be full size (ie: Domestic).
I, unlike many of the people on this list, feel no devotion to any
particular auto manufacturer these days - if I were to lean one way,
it would probably be Chevy. The reason I'm on this list is because
I think MoPar's were "IT" in the 60's. I've got a '68 Dart and love
it; however, I was not particularly impressed by any Chrysler/Dodge
products (or any other domestic for that matter) in the late 70's to
the early 90's. That's when I would only buy German.
These days, I buy domestic. It's the best value. If it weren't for
this list, choosing a Dodge would probably be after a Ford, and I doubt
I'll ever buy a Ford. I'm going to be open minded. I would really
appreciate any benchmarking anyone could provide of why Dodge is better
than Ford, GM, or Chevy for full size trucks. Please spare me any
"Furds suck" or "I had a Chebbie that went through three trannies"
kinds of responses. Some people on this list get very defensive when
flaws are pointed out about certain Dodge products - I'm buying based on
comfort and performance. I'm looking for a 2WD and am not worried about
little things like fit and finish, but reliability is very important to
me as well as reasonable prcing. Any info would be greatly appreciated...
