I'm in the same boat with my '93, 82K miles.

Chrysler wouldn't help me because there were no reported trans problems
with my truck while it was in warranty.

If you ever reported problems before the warranty went out, you may be
in luck. Make sure your other maintenance has been done (such as oil)
They can rule you out on this.

I'm going on the junkyard trail now. I may have to pay to have one
shipped in from another junkyard out of town, but they seem to ba
available for my truck. Talk to a dodge service manager to find out
which model years will work in your truck, don't trust junk yard
listings.

For anyone with a truck still in warranty, go to a dealer and complain
about noises or funny shifting. Even if they find nothing, you'll have
a service record in case something happens after the warranty is out.
