New radio blows weird fuse.

Heh heh heh,

I did the same thing. The +12 lead that is connected to the stock radio is
only for memory backup, it can't be used in 60% or more of the aftermarket
radios because most high end radios use the +12 for system power. The fuse
that blew is in the engine compartment. Oh wait, you have a 92? Ouch that
means a fusable link is gone. I have no idea how those were run. You'll
need to trace the wire diagrams to determine the likely link. I hated this
in my CJ, it isn't a fun job.

In the 94 and later trucks, there is a little black box in the engine
compartment behind the battery which contains some strange looking fuses,
and a few normal ones. The fuse I blew was the 7.5 amp regular fuse. I
much prefer these fuses to fusable links.

Hopefully this info will be enough to assist the dealer in tracing the
culprit.
