Shocks and Ground Clearance

While shocks won't usually have any impact on ground clearance (though my
little econobox with high pressure KYBs rode decidedly higher) they do
make a difference, especially offroad.

I've mounted Bilsteins at all four corners (at $49 each, a steal). You will
not find a better-made shock absorber in the world. You also won't find
4x4 Dakotas in the catalog. What you end up with is a 'unapproved application'
which is to say, no lifetime warranty. Except that the Bilstein distributor
for North America happens to be here in San Diego. The applications for
the models I've got: Front - Ford F250, Rear - Chevy Suburban. Yes, the
'Burb has a LOT more weight swinging over those shocks, so you get very
tight jounce control! The clearance up front is VERY tight, the A-arm has
shredded the bellows on one side, abraded the other. All four are still
working just great, and will probably outlive the truck.

If anyone wants the part numbers, I'll post them.
