Yes, and rather quickly. I happened to overhear a Dakota racer at last
year's NHRA Division 6 finals tell a co-driver to sit in the water box
and run the revs up to 5,500 through three full throttle gear changes to
sync the computer (like me they race their Dodge tow rig in the Sportsman
class as well as another Mopar in Pro).

I have had occasional consistency problems racing my 95 RAM club cab where
the truck would run a tenth faster all of a sudden, usually resulting in a
crushing breakout loss, so I decided to give it a try. Well, it produces
a nasty, crowd-pleasing burnout and gives me that extra 10th on every pass
(actually 8 to 9 hundreths, I just dial down a tenth to play safe). I
deep stage and get killer lights (.520 where .500 is perfect) without
electronics and won the next big race I entered in an all run category.

The "Mopar Performance" headers that I ordered for my RAM and the ones on
the other racer's Dakota I mentioned earlier came out of a Doug Thourly box.
