Yup. I've been meaning to get around to this too. I've upgraded the
horns on three of my motorcycles now so I have some experience with
this. On my XT350 I have horns from my old '70 Plymouth. They are good
old american two tone horns. They sound good and junk yards sell them
for $10/pair. The best horns are Fiamms, made in Italy. Italians
drivers really know how to use horns and demand the best. Fiamms are
used on the BMW motorcycles, Fiats, Moto Guzzis, etc. The set I have is
a high pitched, very piercing, two tone set. The run about $30/pair.
The Fiamm relays are crap, so if you need a new relay just grab any $5
relay from the auto parts store. On motorcycles I have to run 12 gauge
wiring direct to the battery (fused of course). I haven't checked out
the stock Dakota horn wiring yet.
