Close. I'm not sure if I was lucky, or blessed. At the '95 Monterey Historics
I got to sit behind the wheel of the Viper prototype, the test mule, the
GTS coupe (pre-production), and any of a couple production machines. Wow.
I have a sneaking suspicion someone was supposed to be watching the display
at the time -- this was the only time I know of that show cars have been
exposed to greasy fingers like that. Also interesting to see how even a car
as close to the show car as the Viper evolves on the way to production.
BTW, the production car is a good deal nicer (better ergo) than the show car.
Now if they'd only have let me take it for a lap of Laguna Seca....

I love lush forests, running streams, naked women, and motorcycles.
I hunt and eat red meat, thus I'm a game manager.
I own a fossil-guzzling truck, yet I Tread Lightly! wherever I go,
and pick up all the trash you environmentalist city folk leave behind.
I own and use an Evil Black Gun (or two) but I'm not a criminal.
Paradox? No, I'm from Dakota Territory (Montana) where a man's born FREE.
