About the tach, mine works but at idle hops around between an indicated
600 and 900 or so rpm. It's reads about 200 +/- rpm high all the time at
road speeds, according to my Auto X-Ray (which is getting the rpm signal
from the computer). It sounds like yours might have the meter (needle)
part of the tach binding on something. You can take off the dash face and
get to the guages (without taking them out) to see it the tach needle is
mechanically hanging up. If not it's probably the sender unit that lives
behind the instruments that's acting up. Don't know what they cost
though.
