Subject: Oil Pressure Guage

I have had a problem with my oil pressure guage since day one. It sticks
every now again. I have had it in the shop under warranty twice already for
it. They said the sending unit was bad and replaced it. I didn't have any
problems with it all last summer and winter and now it is acting up again.
Anyone else experience this problem? I will be taking it in to have it
looked at again this weekend and will let you know what the diagnosis was.
As with the tach problem on another thread, if I tap on the face of the
guage it usually springs to life, but that's not working anymore.

With those kind of problems (all gauge related), I would have Dodge replace
the entire instrument cluster...If it's still under warranty.

The only problem I ever had with my oil pressure gauge was on my '91...It
always was one the L or just above at high rpm (at about 1/4 if it was a gas
gauge!)... It finally died out after I changed the oil one time...it caused the
oil LIGHT to come on... I stopped the truck, checked every thing, etc. etc..I
had oil pressure (and oil!), but the gauge/sensor died out... I took it to
Dodge and that sensor was bad the entire time I had the truck (2.5 years!)...
They replaced it under warranty, and then it always read 1/2 at idle, then
5/8-3/4 at high rpm.

    My '91 was a pre-magnum 318 V8 Dakota BTW...
