Diesels get off because the trucking lobby is strong enough to keep them
excluded. Sort of hard to write laws and regs that say that the Peterbilt
or Kenworth doesn't have to pass a smog test, but your diesel car or
pickup has to.

Followed a Mercedes diesel up a hill in Mt Rainier Nat'l Park on a motor-
cycle once and thought I was going to be asphyxiated. Must have inhaled a
pint of crap in a mile. Nah, diesels don't pollute.

PS, The bike's gonna get rejetted this fall/ winter so it'll run better
with the new exhaust system.
