Both the Kelly Blue Book web page (www.kbb.com) and the Edmunds web page
(www.edmunds.com) have the 97 Dakota list and invoice pricing. They both
have info on how to get the best price. I would start there and pick the
options you are interested in and figure out the invoice and list pricing.
There is no reason that if you shop around hard enough that you can't buy
the truck for $100-$300 over invoice. Before you start your negotiations
check on factory rebates (Idoubt there are any yet on the 97 Dakota) but if
there are subtract it from the invoice amount.

Also, if you plan to trade in a vehicle keep the negotiations seperate. That
is, make a deal for the truck then make a deal for the trade. Just do not
expect much over wholesale on the trade.
