The Magnums, '92 and later, are redesigned from the top down. The only
thing's that are supposed to be interchangeable between the Magnums and
the older engines are cranks and rods.
Properly thrashed my 3.9 Magnum will give a pre Magnum 5.2 (318) that's
stock a very hard time.
