Over the past 20 years I have purchsed in the neighborhood of 12 DieHards to
replace OEM batterys. I have never had one fail and they have all been used
for 4-7 years before I have gotten rid of the vehicle they were in. I would
say that there is no generic faults with the DieHard. Also, 47k miles is an
awful short life span for a starter. I typically drive vehicles 150k+ miles
and seldom have to replace the starter. I am now just having solenoid
problems on my Dakota at 202,000 miles.

My first questios would be;
. Were the replaced batteries confirmed bad?
. Has the charging system been checked to see if it is over or undercharging
the battery?
. Has the electrical system been checked for shorts that would be drawing
the battery down?
